PEOPLE · OD STAFFING

Short-staffed.
Again.

An open chair on the schedule means fewer exams, longer waits and a team stretched thin. Ask a practice owner what wears them down and staffing usually comes first.

Signs you may recognize

  • Exam days are cancelled or shortened for lack of coverage.
  • Patients wait too long for an appointment.
  • You cover the gaps yourself.
  • You are not sure whether the practice can support another OD.
  • Recruiting starts only after someone gives notice.

How I help

  • I listen first. Staffing problems usually start somewhere upstream.
  • I help you plan OD coverage.
  • I help you decide when to add an OD.
  • I assist with recruitment.
  • I help you build schedules that work for patients and for your team.

What you get

What listening first looks like

One of my favorite stories comes from my years with LensCrafters. I spent time with an optometrist in Chicago, in their practice. Staffing problems had turned into service problems in the dispensary. I listened first. Then the optometrist and I made the decisions together, formed a plan and put it to work. The complaints stopped. Dispensary sales improved. And the optometrist was heard.

My own account from my operating career. It is not a LuxeVista Advisory Group engagement and is not a promise of future performance.

Why work with me

I am an ABO-certified optician. For 20+ years I led optical teams with Luxottica, LensCrafters and Pearle Vision. You work with me directly, remote by video or on site in your practice.
